Task 8 - Evaluation

Overall, I feel I did relatively well throughout Unit 68.  The first task was pretty self explanatory, and I believe I hit the aim for that task which was to provide a burn-down chart along with a small explanation showing my thought process on how to complete the Unit. As such, I believe I did that well. I also provided my reasons on why I chose a Burndown chart to use for planning my time management.

For Task 2, I recorded my environment research. I chose two settings to look into, in this case a space settlement, or a medieval town. I explained my reasons on choosing the selected images for both options. I provided about three images per setting. A large paragraph was provided for both of my main ideas in order to explain my reasons why and what I plan to do with both ideas.

For my design pack, I started by creating asset Mood-boards. I found images that I planned to base my assets off and wrote about what I will borrow from them. Upon completing those Mood-boards, I then found my primary inspiration images for each of my buildings and put them on the blog. Once they were done, I put on the image's of my finished buildings, from my environment so that my finished assets could be seen. I feel this was one of my stronger tasks, due to the detail I provided and the expanded explanations I gave for each of my choice of inspiration.

I then went on to creating my legal and ethical obligations for 3D environment's. I explained the impact an environments design could have on certain groups of people. I explained how It could be avoided and how more offensive imagery would be accepted when used in the right context. For the legal aspect, I explained how a buildings design could be sued should it mimic real life architecture. I believe I covered all the main points of ethical and legal obligations that affect 3D environments.

I then went on to talk about my environment build. I described all the processes taken in order to create my 3D environment. I went through the entire build process, and how I created my assets. I explored the simple build process as well as Blenders physics and UV unwrapping. I believe this was one of my stronger tasks due to the fact that I explored my build process in detail. While I wrote about my build process in detail, I feel that my overall 3D environment should of been larger and made in more detail. If I were to do this task again, I'd create a larger and more complicated 3D environment that accurately represents my 3D modelling ability. I felt that my theory work was done well, though I would emphasis improving my practical work If I had to complete this task again.

Upon completing my build process, I then recorded a fly through video of my finished 3D environment. This was shown across both Task 6 and Task 7. Both these tasks simply required me to put the video onto the relevant blog page, making tasks 6 and 7 really easy to complete.
